Some of you may be familiar with my griffin character, Niddy. Well, let's just say he's a little... lonely.

And so- it's time to design a she-griffin for him!

This contest is for both animal artists AND human(oid) artists. Please read the information below before deciding not to participate! If you do decide to participate, by all means, spread the word The more the merrier.

Contest Info:

<sub>- At the very least, I'd like a picture of what you think she should look like, and a name. For bonus points, include a description of her personality, and/or maybe a back-story.


- Please, if you're going to do a photomanipulation for this, make it creative. Don't just copy a picture of a lion and a picture of an eagle into paint and splice them together. I'd much rather have a completely original drawing/painting than a couple photos put together. Straight-up photography is not allowed.


- Don't worry about your skill level as an artist! I'm looking for creativity, not perfection. Do your best, and I'll be happy. Let's face it, I'll love you just for participating.


- Also, don't worry about stylistic differences (your griffins have bird tails, ears, four feline legs, what have you). Just keep in mind I might change some details in your design. I do intend to keep her as a character. Feel free to play with colors and patterns! I do prefer more natural tones, though. Just a heads up.


- To make this contest fair for everybody, I'm allowing human(oid) versions to be entered. If I can draw Niddy as a human(oid), you can draw the new griffin as one too. ^^ I'll take your design and convert it to quad form myself, but keep your original design for when I feel like drawing her bipedal. Perhaps some of the more ambitious contestants will draw both forms ;D I guess we'll see.</sub>

- Only two entries per person.

Judging:
<sub>You will be judged by the following criteria:


- Effort: It's clear you tried, and didn't just throw something together.

- Thoroughness: You did your best to make her into something more than a pretty picture. People who go on to describe her personality and/or past have a better chance than somebody who only draws her.

- Believability: She isn't bright pink with lime green stripes, she isn't from Jupiter, she doesn't have a million piercings in weird places...</sub>


The judges are:

If there are less than ten entries by the deadline, I will judge alone.

First place recieves a full color request from me, a three-month feature in my journal, an ACEO by =kodriak (you won't receive the original), as well as a subscription from the fantastic *JamJams.

Second place recieves a full color request from me, and a two-month feature in my journal.

Third place gets a detailed sketch from me, and a one-month feature in my journal.

Please note that if I only get a handful of entries, there will only be a first place, with no runner-ups.</sub>
